PROPFX is the culmination of years of research and the combination of a proprietary hybrid polysiloxane resin and patent pending Nano Fluid Surface Technology (NFST). General Information: The hybrid polysiloxane with epoxy reacted in its backbone creates a crystal clear proprietary polymer that has outstanding adhesion to all materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass, fiberglass, wood, plastics, etc. It has more than sufficient flexibility for its intended purpose, toughness and high abrasion resistance.

The resin cures using a dual mechanism, providing sufficient pot life and work time while ensuring a fully reacted and catalized final coating with optimal properties. The molecular matrix is tight enough to prevent vapor penetration and thus a coating based on this resin can perform at a high level in fully submerged conditions. The high solids and zero VOC of the PROPFX system brings it in compliance with todays stringent health and safety requirements without compromising performance.

How Does NFST Work:
Nano Fluid Surface Technology (NFST), is a unique propreitary, and patent pending technology. It transforms the surface of a solid material into a thin, immobilized lubricant layer. NFST is delivered in an encapsulated form via a hybrid polysiloxane, an impervious, tough and durable clear coat discussed earlier. The release/lubricant oil is configured in a manner that causes it to migrate to the coating’s surface and suffuse it with a mild oily slick.The oil proceeds to completely cover the solid, nano porous surface of the coating and creates a smooth and slippery liquid interface. Whenever this interface is removed or displaced, it is replenished by a fresh layer of lubricant, immediately, automatically and repetitiously.

PROPFX can be used on all critical surfaces such as propellers, running gear, rudder assemblies, stern drives, bow thrusters, underwater lights and the submerged area of the vessels hull. Unlike other surface protection coatings that are easily damaged or abraded when they come in contact with hard objects, the tough composition of PROPFX will easily tolerate these encounters while maintaining the integrity of its NFST benefits.

Prior to application make sure to clean the target surface from all foreign material, rust and other contaminants. Standard procedures such as stripping, sanding, etc., with thorough post preparation cleaning with a non-residue solvent, such as isopropyl alcohol, is recommended. In case a primer is desired to ensure adhesion to unfamiliar material or surfaces, Liquiguard ‘UniBond 110’ primer is highly recommended.

is a two part coating requiring 3:1 ratio of Part A & Part B. Its pot life is approx.3 hours. A single coat application is recommended with a coating thickness of approximately 4 mil to 8 mil (1.0 – 2.0 mm) maximum. PROPFX can be applied with a brush or by spraying. Coverage per gallon is approximately 400 sq. ft./37 sq. mt. The two part coating is combined in a ratio of 3 parts Part A and 1 part Part B. Working time for the mixture is about 3 hours. Suggested cure time before immersing the vessel in water is 24 hours. The coating will attain is optimal proper – ties in 72 hours. Thinning of PROPFX is not recommended.

PROPFX Coverage:
A quart of PROPFX will provide coverage, front and back, to five or six medium propellers, approximately 30 inch diam – eter. This value is derived from industry standard computation of coverage based on coating solids. Actual results may vary base on the target surface and method of application.

Limitations and Safety:
There are no limitations associated with the use of PROPFX. Its Nano Fluid Sur – face Technology can be used wherever there is a need to protect against under – water fouling. Once fully cured PROPFX is totally inert and presents no hazards to human or marine life. The composition of PROPFX is non polluting and will not leach out harmful chemicals. All standard safety procedures associated with com – mercial and industrial grade paints should be observed in its handling and use.
